Total to Offset Carbon in India

Total to offset carbon emissions in India with a bio-digester project

Total is implementing a bio-digester project in India in collaboration with GoodPlanet Foundation of France and SKG Sangha, an India based NGO. The project spread across Adilabad district in Telangana is aimed at providing clean cooking fuel (bio-gas) with 8400 bio-digesters deployed in remote villages which otherwise depend on wood for cooking. This carbon neutrality initiative will avoid emission of 50000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent a year for 10 years. This is equivalent to all emissions generated by plane travel by Total employees.
