TOTAL Special Fluids offers a comprehensive portfolio of Kerosene type fluids with its KETRUL® and KERDANE® aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent ranges, which can be divided into two categories :
The classic range
This range includes the high-aromatic kerosene cuts whose high solvency power makes them valuable solvents and diluents in the following industries : Resins, Paints, Cleaning Agents, Degreasing, Dewaxing?
Low aromatic content Kerosenes
A range of hydrogenated Kerosenes with toxicological and ecotoxicological levels lower than current regulatory requirements.
These products have a very low aromatic content, typically 100 ppm, giving greater flexibility in formulations.
With a solvency power similar to the traditional KETRUL fluids, but an aromatic content of less than 1% wt, the choice between these low aromatic grades is determined by the required flash point and evaporation rate.
For those applications which require a slow evaporation rate we recommend KETRUL D 80 or KETRUL 211, depending on the flash point required.
These two grades are also proposed for the following industries:
Paints: Where an extended open-time is required
Wood preservatives: The slow evaporation rate allows for greater penetration of the wood.
Degreasing: Where the high flash point allows both products to be used safely.
Dewaxing: Both products recommended due to their high flash point.
